Hello! Welcome to the Quebec Trip information page for 2007-2008...

update: January 17th:
The money from the poinsetta fundraiser was given to those who participated today, look for the cheque in pockets and backpacks this evening!
I have received about 1/3 of the money for the space camp activity. Please submit the 15$ directly to the school as soon as possible so that I can keep our spot reserved!
I have received a few suggestions for fundraisers and would like to know the level of interest for each option. (we can of course do all three!) Please email me with your thoughts/interest level by January 23rd so that we can get another fundraiser going. Please also let me know if you would like to help out with any of the three.
choice a) cash calendar, tickets would sell for 10$ each and draws would be held each day for different cash prizes (20$, 40$, 100$ and 200$)
b) garage sale, would run a Friday evening, and Saturday day in mid or late February in the school gym, reserve a table for 5$ which would be returned after the sale and all profits from sold items would go to the stuent/family selling items, could also include a bake sale.
c) Gourmet Kitchen Fundraising, see details at
www.gourmetkitchenfundraising.com  They sell cookie dough, spices, etc.

update: January 7th:
Just a reminder that we would like to have our numbers in place by the end of this week.  Please enroll ASAP.  The Autopay feature seems to be the best deal - you get an extra 2 months to pay! *watch out for the optional insurance, they like to add it to the total automatically ($109), the lifetime membership fee includes basic insurance and is probably all that is needed for our trip.  Check page 10 of the EFTours booklet for details.
Please submit your Space Camp money to Mlle. T. Cheques should be made out to the school and the activity is $15.00

update: December 14th:
how to enroll!
go to EFTours.ca
click on the parents/students tab
choose "enroll for my teacher's tour"
put in the tour code: 456857
it will ask you if it is the correct tour
follow the directions on the screen
good luck!

Update: November 21st
Poinsetta fundraiser started today, orders are due November 30th, pickup date Dec. 5, time TBA

minutes from parent meeting November 14th:

1. introduction of staff: A. Tittenberger, G. MacLeod and M. Bisson. Regrets: C. Steele
2. trip is booked with EF Tours this year, please see their website for information about the organisation (see links section below)
3. contract is with EF Tours directly, no funds to go through the school, enroll for trip via website (tour # 456857) or bring form in to Mlle. Tittenberger with payment.
4. review of itinerary, still working on Space Camp option for evening of Day 4, Canyon Ste. Anne will be visited on Day 3 if weather permits
5. Dates on itinerary are incorrect - trip dates are Sunday May 25th through Friday May 30th 2008.  This will NOT interfere with band trip to Regina.
6. cost breakdown given, please note that an addtional 10$/day is recommended for lunches
7. discussed fundraising options, if interested in organising a fundraiser, please email Mlle. T to assist in communication
possibilities mentioned were:
a) chocolate sales
b) mom's pantry
c) Bothwell cheese and honey
d)poinsetta sales
e)epicure
f) kids do directly: babysitting, snowshovelling, etc.
8. presentation of alternate activities taking place in Winnipeg (G. MacLeod) please contact Mme. MacLeod directly for furthur information.

Questions raised:
a) incorrect dates on itinerary - has been noted and will be changed ASAP
b)can air miles be used for trip? - under investigation
c) what is the enrollment deadline for the trip? - here is the direct response I got:The final deadline for enrollment on a tour running at the end of May would be mid February. I highly recommend that the people who plan to go on the trip enroll as soon as possible, so our travel team can start working on flights for you. Also, if they enroll before mid December, they can use the “autopay” payment option, which is a convenient monthly payment that comes directly from a chequing account or credit card. One of the advantages of this system is it gives the students until 35 days prior to departure, as opposed the 99 days prior to departure with the standard payment schedule.

Several other suggestions came up:
i) set up an emergency fund for each student, eg. 30$ held by teachers so that bank card issues, lunch money misspent, etc. can be dealt with.
ii) are there any hidden fees? ie airport taxes, tips for driver, etc. - will be investigated
