This wednesday I am meeting with the Spectrum counsellors about course selections. If you have any concerns about next year for your child please contact me afterschool on tuesday or phone me on wednesday morning between 9:00 and 10:30.Also if your child is planning on going to a school outside the catchment area and you have not completed a transfer request ,that process begins this thursday, april 21st.
On april 26th there will be a Crysral Meth presentation for grade 7 and 8 students in the gym at 10:40. Feel free to attend as well, just let the office know in advance.
On may 4th we are having our class( no charge) and school photos.
On the afternoon of may 8th grade 8s will be attending a performance entitled "Hannah's Suitcase",about the holocaust
P.E.: Both classes are doing a football unit and we are doing exercises and stretches targeting a certain muscle group. Our next set of muscles are the quadraceps.There will be a quiz on the calf muscle stretches and some of our healthy choices lessons on relationships and intimacy.
Math: We are having a quiz this week on section 5.6(div.15 on wed. and div.16 on thurs). We are still working on graphing and there will be an assignment called "bowser" that the students will be responsible for completing at home.This was due april 18th for div. 15 and april 21st for div 16.
Sc.:There are some text questions due this week.Page 185 #1-4 is due tues april 19th
Eng. : A novel study is underway. They should have completed their novel and have a written assignment to hand in on thursday april 21st.
Socials : The students are working in groups on a mind map(If they say they don't know about this ...THEY DO...AND THEY HAVE THE CRITERIA.)This was due friday last week for div 15 and tuesday april 19th for div 16. We are continuing to study philsopical quotes and chinese philosophers as a lead in to the students developing their own personal philosophies.This will be due at the end of the month.
