Use These 10 Tips To See If Your Dentist Is Truly Holistic

We all know how important it is to choose the best doctor for your family, but neglecting the dentist would be a huge mistake. Considering the fact that the health of your teeth and gums will influence the health of the rest of your body, we can say that choosing the right dentist is even more important from a prevention point of view.

While traveling to 14 isolated Traditional Societies, Dr. Weston A. Price wrote a book called Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. In this book, he highlights the importance of a good dental health, considering the fact that cultures with the best dental health also possesses the best overall health.

He also observed that most of the cultures that altered their native diet begun to encounter numerous health problems, such as tooth decay with chronic and generative diseases and physical malformations. Moreover, the next generation of these particular cultures showed dental malocclusions.

Since the majority of dentists pretend to be holistic, it can be quite hard to find a dentist that is able to use nontoxic treatments and methods that can facilitate oral health without any harm. The dentists that pretend to be holistic simply sell supplements in their office with each dental practice by the book conventional, even though they define themselves as holistic in their marketing campaigns.

A clear example of a non-holistic dentist would be the so-called expert that simply offers you’re a choice when it comes to fluoride treatments. If your encounter a dentist that will present you with this offer, and does everything else completely conventional, you should know that you have not find a holistic dentist yet.

You should also avoid working with dentists that recommended x-rays on a frequent basis, considering the studies conducted at the Yale University`s Elizabeth Claus. According to these studies, people who have the most dental x-rays have the highest risk of developing brain tumors. This is clearly not a holistic approach to things.

Therefore, don`t view a dentist as being holistic simply because he says so. Before you agree to any treatment for yourself or for a member of your family, you need to request a consultation one on one with the dentist and ask him some questions first.

Below you will find a list of 10 things that you need to check right after you have found a dentist that seems promising. These things will help you see if he is truly holistic or not!

  1. True holistic dentists avoid the use of amalgam fillings

A holistic dentist will never see amalgams fillings as an option. These types of fillings contain mercury, a really dangerous compound for our health. Avoid working with dentists that use amalgams fillings, since this is clearly not a holistic approach to dental health.

  1.  True holistic dentists do not offer Fluoride Treatments

Besides the fact that it leads to white spots on the teeth, fluoride can also reduce a child`s IQ, weakens the bones and damage the thyroid.

A holistic dentist will never recommend a fluoride treatment to a child. Therefore, if you talk with a dentist that includes fluoride treatment amongst his other options; you are clearly not talking to a holistic dentist.

  1. True holistic dentists do not use crowns

When it comes to the drilling practice, you should know that the authentic holistic doctors are very conservative. They use only non-toxic filling material to cover the cavity that requires filling. The holistic dentist will normally use a inlay in case the cavity or hole is large.

Moreover, holistic dentists will use crowns as a last option, since they involve removing up to two-thirds of the tooth.

  1. True holistic dentists do not offer sealants

A valid holistic dentist would never use sealant materials on his patients since these materials incorporate a hormone disrupting Bisphenol A (BPA). Some dentists may recommend BSP sealants as a safer alternative, but you need to avoid these materials as well.

The BPS materials are as bad as the BPA materials, according to a researcher at the University of Texas, Rene Vinas.

  1. Holistic Dentists use X-Rays Sparingly

It is not recommended to perform an x-ray on a child until he/she has reached the age of 13, and a true holistic dentist should be aware of this fact. We must keep the number of x-rays on a minimum since radiation exposure is cumulative over a lifetime. Compared to the conventional dental x-ray machines, digital x-rays are just 50% lower in radiation, so don`t pay too much attention to the statement that the radiation is insignificant from such devices.

Patients that have had dental x-rays in the past present a higher risk of developing a brain tumor, according to a research published in Cancer by Elizabeth Claus, of Yale University.

  1. Holistic Dentists test Filling Materials First

To determine what type of filling material suits a patient best biologically, a true holistic dentist will always test the patient via blood test or applied kinesiology.

On the other hand, dentists that only pretend to be holistic will never conduct such a test and will only use their favorite composite materials for every patient.

  1. For Invasive Surgery, holistic dentists use homeopathy and vitamin C

Before a dental surgery, a holistic dentist will always suggest homeopathy and vitamin C instead of drugs. However, during the procedure, the holistic dentist may use a minimum of painkiller.

To begin the healing process, the holistic dentist will also recommend a whole food based, oral Vitamin C right after the surgery ends.

The main advantages consist on the fact that you will recover from the surgery without using any antibiotics, you will feel minimal discomfort and have no other problems.

  1. Instead of painkillers, holistic dentist offer infrared devices for healing from surgery

Holistic dentists will offer you a device that emits gentle infrared heat to recover from the surgery. You will have to hold the device really close to the area of your jaw where the surgery was performed, for half of hour at a time, several times per day. This device will help reduce the discomfort and speed up the healing process.

Therefore, there will be no need for painkillers during your recovery; since this device will help you heal up beautifully.

  1. Holistic dentists do not remove wisdom teeth unless they are causing severe problems

In a research published in the American Journal of Public Health, Dr. Jay Friedman stated that over two-thirds of cases of wisdom tooth removal are totally unnecessary.

Each year, there are nearly 5 million individuals who perform wisdom tooth extraction, and 11.000 of them suffer what is called “permanent paresthesia”. This term is used to define numbness of the lip, tongue and cheek resulting from never damage during the surgery.

If the wisdom tooth is really causing severe problems, the holistic dentist may decide to remove it by taking great care to ensure no cavitations are created during the procedure. Wisdom teeth should not be removed if they don`t induce pain or infection.

  1. Holistic Dentists rarely do root canals

Homeopathy, herbs, or clearing away toxic dental materials in and around the tooth, are some practices that can be used to treat inflamed teeth. Therefore, there is no need to root canals treatments.

In case a dentist offers you a root canal treatment and recommends placing a crown over the top of the tooth, you will need to look for a second opinion, since this practice may completely destroy your tooth.

Going to graduate school was a positive decision for me. I enjoyed the coursework, the presentations, the fellow students, and the professors. And since my company reimbursed 100% of the tuition, the only cost that I had to pay on my own was for books and supplies. Otherwise, I received a free master’s degree. All that I had to invest was my time. Bob Proctor Coaching
