Web 2.0 impact technologies are discussed in perspective as environmental friendliness develops into the future in which personal learning environments prevail.

Elarning replaces the old model of teaching and learning a century, which focuses on the instructor facing the classroom for students. This model no longer corresponds to how people want to learn today, because of the technological world in which they live. With rapid achievements in technologies and Internet tools, the traditional model disappears to accommodate today's students.

Traditional teaching is replaced by a developing model of ELARNING, which uses online technology so that people can learn at any time and anywhere. This model includes training in the workplace, the delivery of fair information, college courses, units for continuous formations and management of experts. The benefits of Elarning include:

  • Actively participate students in teaching the process, in contrast to passive students.
  • Support for interactivity between student and teacher, as well as on the part of students.
  • Using the advantages of social networks and learning management systems to provide materials.

Support for digital Aboriginal (as a rule, 18 - 27 years old) in their efforts to continue education through the use of Web 2.0 technologies as a means to maintain their learning.

Online Learning: Why Elearning Continues to Grow

Online learning changes how people learn. There are three main reasons why Elarning continues its rapid growth, includes:

  • The economy continues to fight, and more companies reduce costs using elarning technologies to train employees. These measures of savings are becoming the norm, and not exception.
  • Students want to better use their time and money, so they continue to enjoy environmental opportunities.

More companies want to create a reputation environmentally friendly, to this end they support more use of ELARNING programs to maintain their green initiatives.

Emerging Technology: Online Tools Shaping Distance Learning

The following online tools Web 2.0 are new technologies used to support cultural and technological trends, forming an environmental environment.

Social learning - uses the ability to share the user-created content through joint, informal learning environment. These Elearning environments include Slideshare, Wikipedia, Facebook, Ning, Twitter, Plurk, Delicious, Written, Digg and more online tools.

Social exchange is real-time Web 2.0 students learning to use to share their knowledge through:

  • Viral tools, such as Flickr and YouTube.
  • Tags based on tags, such as delicious, Digg, Reddit and Technorati.
  • News, such as Newsvine, Digg, I will encourage RSS feeds.

Internet conferences - these conferences provide people to people to attend a professional conference on the Internet. This emerging environmental environment uses webinars, podcasts and strategies for conferences on video for education and training.

An open source content is to involve open and free educational materials, open college courses, computer programs and free copyright knowledge. This initiative allows students to complete college courses without having to sign up in college or pay these courses.

Flat training is a joint approach for a junction, in which training is due to individuals, and not by organizations. These people use Web 2.0 tools to support their personal educational network with online blog instruments, Wiki, Ning, Skype and other social networking tools. They also use a professional network to explore the latest trends and initiatives in their career with LinkedIn.
