Progressives 1865 –1920    Review Sheet for Test 1/21/15

 

You are not required to do any work on a review sheet. The 1 to 4 point bonus is for completing most of the work on a separate sheet of paper, having that signed by a parent/guardian, and bringing it to class on Wednesday, when you take the test.  When the test is returned, you will have an opportunity for an additional +2 for apparent/guardian signature.

 

WHAT TO STUDY :

 

  • CLASS NOTES: The Progressives. Remember that this unit began BEFORE vacation.  If you have been absent, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to have a complete set of notes and get the work that you missed.

 

  • Vocabulary – Be able to define, explain or understand any name, phrase or vocabulary word from the unit.
  • Skills – Be able to read and interpret quotes, passages, political cartoons, graphs and/or charts related to this unit.
  • Research essay – review the notes you took and be able to explain a few key points about your person/issue. (1-2 sentences).
  • Homework Handouts – Chapter 21-22

 

 

Question Types: Multiple Choice, Matching, Constructed Response and Short Answer questions will be on the test. Use full sentences as directed.

  1. Who were Progressives? What areas of society did they wish to change?
  2. Be able to give one or two direct connections between problems, Progressive reformer ideas and solutions. Match person to issue and strategy.
  3. Why were cities becoming so crowded in the early 1900s?

  6. Why did Progressives want to reform trusts? How did this happen?

  10. Evaluate Teddy Roosevelt as a Progressive President.
