Thursday, October 10 is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:25.

FCA: The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meets on Wednesdays at 7:40 in the gym. Students should be dropped off in the back of the school. You do not have to be an athlete to attend! Bring a friend. 

Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest: Suddenlink and Altice USA are paying tribute to Latinx who have inspired, influenced, and enriched our nation with an essay contest. The contest runs from Sept 16-October 31. Students are asked to write an essay of 500 words or less about a Latino, past or present, who has inspired them to dream big and explain why. Interested students should see Mrs. Eblin for information. 

Twelve & Quiz Bowl:  Meets on Tuesdays during lunch. 6th graders in Mrs. Mullen's room,  7th and 8th grades in the media center. 

Battle of the Books:  Meets on Thursday during lunch in the media center. 

Cross Country:   Next race is Tuesday at HOME.

Volleyball:   Next game is Wed 10/9 at AG Cox. 

Football:  The next game is WEDNESDAY at HOME vs Greene County.  

Attend Today-Achieve Tomorrow: #PCSStriveForFive attendance campaign, promoting goo student attendance. Good attendance means coming to school on time and staying all day-every day, which is key to every child's success. Pitt County Schools wants all children to Attend Today so they can Achieve Tomorrow! Hope students should Strive for Five or fewer absences this school year!

October Reading Challenge: The media center has issued an October reading challenge to staff and students - read a book written by an author with your SAME NAME. First, middle, last (or maiden for our married staff). It can be any of the authors names, for instance, your first name could be the authors last name. Spelling does NOT have to be the same. If you have an unsual or unique name, please come see a librarian for how you can take part too, we have a plan!  When you finish reading the book, come talk to either Mrs. Below or Mrs. Bingaman in the media center.
