Important Dates:

Sunday, January 31- Start of Catholic School’s Week! 8th Grade Pancake Breakfast and Open House

Valentine’s party will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at 2:00. I sent home a list of all the students in the class so your child will be able to address his/her Valentine Cards. Please help your child decorate a shoe box or a small paper bag for his/her Valentine cards. I know some kids love to be crafty and others do not, please know the box or the small paper bag does not need to be too fancy.

Please continue praying for Rhyan, her family and the medical team. Rhyan finished her 5th round of chemo on Wednesday.

I want to share some information about a fundraiser to raise money for pediatric cancer research in honor of Rhyan. As most of you know, Rhyan’s dad, Brad, is an assistant basketball coach for the Missouri Mens Basketball team. At the Mizzou game on Saturday, February 13 at 2:00, there will be free admission with a cash donation of any amount. All proceeds benefit pediatric cancer research. For more information visit MUTigers.com/RallyForRhyan

At the Tiger Team Store you may purchase a Mizzou hoops and Rally for Rhyan t-shirt, to wear to the game. These shirts were designed for the game on February 13. They have adult and child sizes. The Tiger Team Store is located on the north side of the Faurot Football Field.

Working on comprehension by retelling a story by naming the characters, setting and retelling the beginning, middle and the end of the story. Also, relating the story to any personal connections.

Math- Thank you so much for helping your child with the 100th day project! The kids really enjoyed sharing their projects! We will start learning about money and continue with skip counting. The kids will be assessed on identifying each coin and the value of each coin for 3rd quarter. This is sometimes a hard concept for kindergartners, so extra review at home would be beneficial.

Science- Earth, weather, seasons, shadows

Social Studies- Communities

Monday- Music and PE

Tuesday-Church and PE

Wednesday- Art

Thursday- Computer and Counselor

Friday- Music and Library, please remind your child to keep their library book in their backpack so they will always remember their library book!

Thank you for all of your support!
