Today we worked on adding the proper punctuation to a sentence. Did we have fun? We sure did! For math we continued with our pattern talk focussing on increasing patterns. In social studies we talked about the importance of rules. We discussed what our daily lives would look like if rules did not exist. In science we conducted our first experiment of the year. We put a stalk of celery in a cup mixed with red food colouring and a white flower in a cup with blue food colouring. We sre all anxiously waiting to see that happens tomorrow !!!!

Good evening, Well today was a different day as I needed to attend a profession development day with the catholic school board. In the morning we started out with our sentence corrections as we do everyday. I write 2 sentences on the board that contain 2-3 mistakes each. Each student writes the sentence properly in their books and then we correct them as a class. We then discussed the rights and responsibilities that each of us have as a Canadian citizen. We later examined and described the items we each found on our park walk the yesterday. We had a volunteer read us a story about the importance of respecting others. The conference I had was in the afternoon, so the students had a sub for this time.

Good evening, This morning we started with our first pre-spelling test. The students wrote down their words and they will be correcting them tomorrow. Religion- For social studies we continued with our talk about our rights and responsibilities as Canadian citizens. Math- Today for science we began talking about the basic components of plants. We ran out of time for our walk to the park to collect many of these parts, so we decided to do that tomorrow instead. We began our first art project today. The students were working on a glue/pastel drawing. Students would pick something from the classroom and lightly draw it in pencil. Once drawn students would then trace their pencil lines with bottles glue. We are currently waiting for the glue to dry and anxiously waiting to start part 2 of this project!
