We got a lot of emails asking for the best pressure washer to buy since the lockdown began. Looks like we finally got time for some home improvement.

We must admit, finding a good pressure washer is a challenge. You can find the  Best pressure washer brands at Home Depot and more on the market, but we can’t guarantee if they’ll serve you best.

Before purchasing any pressure washer for home use, you must understand which numbers on the brochure matter. And most importantly, you need to assess your need and budget.

So in this guide, we’ll walk you through the basic pressure washer’s specs and some of our recommendations.

Excited? Let’s jump in!

Power Source

There are electric pressure washers and gas pressure washers.

Electric pressure washers are more suitable for home use because you only need a working power plug to get them running. They’re convenient, and for the same cleaning power generated, they’re smaller, lighter, and cheaper than gas powered washers.

Gas pressure washers can deliver much higher PSI, typically 2500 and up, thanks to the gas-running engine. You’re technically free range with a gas power washer, reaching anywhere with extension hoses. Still, mobility is restricted by the machine’s weight and size.

We only recommend gas-powered washers, particularly one with a Honda engine, for professionals and seasoned users. But do consider if you know how to maintain the motor and need the extra powerful pressure.

Pay attention to the motor type if you’re in a noise-sensitive neighborhood. Both electric and gas can generate loud sounds, but a gas engine beats any electric motor at it.

Hence, we recommend a pressure washer with a brushless induction motor such as Ryobi RY142300 for zero noise complaint.

Cleaning Power

PSI and GPM are the two most important numbers on any pressure washer. PSI represents the water pressure, and GPM represents the flow rate. You multiply them to get the cleaning power; the higher it is, the faster you clean.

This is why we always prefer a pressure washer over a regular garden hose. It saves 60% more water, saves you time, cuts down your bills. Triple YES to that!

Most electric pressure washers deliver 1500-2500 PSI, which is efficient to handle light duty cleaning tasks around the house, such as spraying down the patio furniture or your vehicles’ exteriors.

Heavy duty tasks, such as cleaning a muddy driveway or an old deck, require more cleaning power, typically 3000 PSI and up.

Remember, you’ll pay more for the extra power. If you’re after the Best rated pressure washer , check out Karcher K4 and AR Blue Clean AR383 for decent performance at a bargain.

Accessories

The quality lies in the accessories, and you don’t need to pay more for a better tool. The Sun Joe SPX3000 has a metal spray wand, 5 removable nozzle tips, and a double detergent tank design for about $150.

Look for tools that have a wide range of applications with different attachments and fitted GFCI plug.

A turbo nozzle serves well as an all-in-one nozzle because you can easily dial to multiple angles and settings. Having access to various angles is incredibly useful when working with chemicals because you can apply them efficiently at a safe distance.

You also want a long and pliable hose and cord that allow a reach of 50-60ft to maximize mobility. And with that, an excellent onboard management system, preferably hose reels or Velcros, to better secure them in place.

Final Words

We’ll leave you with a tip: the best pressure washer has the best policy. An extended 30-36 month warranty can justify the high quality of  Good pressure washer brands you’re getting.
