We are working on a variety of media in all of our classes. Third and Fourth grade will be starting weaving soon. Second grade will be concentrating on warm and cool colors and drawing Fall leaves. First grade will be using their imagination and learning about illustration. Fifth grade is finishing up their "Word" composition.
We have several artists that are being recognized in our community presently.
Ava Allain is a finalist for the Cool Ripple CSU literacy contest.
Genesis Garcia, Lucy Hart, Jenna Crisp, Enrique Olmos, Olivia Perkins, Carlos Mercado and Karington Marsh participated in the Steeple Chase Art Show in the Columbus Museum. Lucy earned an Honorable Mention! Great job Reese Road runners :)
We are currently working on our HEROS AROUND US entries for the PTA Reflections show, among other art endeavors.
We are off to a great start in our Road runner Art classes. Some students in 4th and 5th grade were able to go to the Columbus Museum to see the new Ansel Adams exhibit. I encourage you all to check out the Museum, it's free and fun :). We have already had student entries in several state wide contests, and there are many new opportunities to show off awesome artwork all year.
We are excited about starting a new Art year as a LIGHT HOUSE SCHOOL! Our students have many opportunities to let their leadership shine in art. They take turns setting up and cleaning up in class, and of course, they get to use their imaginations! :)
