Lasting Rewards and Benefits of an MBA

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) targets business leaders and administrators. The graduate degree continues to offer rewards and benefits to adults.

Employees who have a MBA degree can work in a variety of industries including government, non-profit, community, military, financial services, academic and healthcare. Because many colleges and universities offer virtual training programs, students can earn their MBA online or attend part-time or full-time campus programs.

The MBA Degree and Versatility

MBA degrees are recognized and accepted at international schools like the Egyptian Electronic Learning University, London College of Management and Moscow’s International University offer Master of Business Administration degrees. The United States also offers international training programs with the degree. Because of this students can gain employment overseas and fill roles that require a Master’s degree without needed additional training.

MBA degrees also cover a wide range of topics like finance, organizational behavior, marketing, strategic communication, business policy, human resources and project management. This allows students to gain employment across a broad range of industries.

Networking as an MBA Graduate

Collegiate and professional Master of Business Administration organizations like the Association of MBAs, the National Black MBA Association and MBA Association provide job postings, investment clubs, mentoring programs, conferences, international fairs and speaker opportunities for their members.

Graduates can only join the associations if they are currently taking an MBA program or have already earned their MBA degree. Students should ask their business school if they will pay the cost of a one year membership for them.

Master of Business Administration Internships

Financial services firms, government agencies and medical facilities offer paid internship programs for students who are working toward a MBA degree. The graduate school internships extend for two to three years. Students can work full-time at a Fortune 100 company while they continue their education. The work experience and on-the-job training strengthen a professional’s resume.

Professionals who design technological, human resources or financial presentations while they work on a team project at the firm they intern with, should ask their supervisor if they can include a portion of the project material that they created in their portfolio.

Earnings Potential with an MBA

A May 2019 Graduate Management Admission Council survey revealed that at the peak of the recession, 67% of MBA survey respondents reported that their salaries remained ahead of inflation and that their unemployment rates were below national and regional averages.

94% of the survey respondents noted that they remained employed, part-time or full-time, during the economic downturn. Business leaders with a MBA degree who supervised employees and also managed budgets were surveyed as earning more than degree earners who performed only one of the two functions.

Professor Tenure Tracks for MBA Earners

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics 2018-2019 Occupational Outlook Handbook, four-year colleges and universities typically require full-time, tenure track professors to have a doctorate degree. However, some post-secondary schools will hire professors who have a Master of Business Administration. Professors who have an MBA can be hired by most two-year colleges, certification and licensing programs with a MBA. States like New York require that secondary school teachers have a graduate degree.

Overall, the MBA degree's versality allows graduates to gain employment across a broad range of industries. Fortune 100 companies, government and non-profit organizations also have internship programs targeted specifically toward graduates who have the MBA degree. The degree can also lead to a professor role at a reputable college or university. Finally, networking organizations like the National Black MBA Association and the Association of MBAs offer opportunities for graduates with the MBA degree to network at conferences and online events which can help graduates learn about unique job opportunities.

A shortage of skilled workers in today's workforce is attributed by many employers to the lack of satisfactory education beyond high school.

What is the value of vocational or technical education often cope with many high school students together with older adults with only a high school. The problem with this issue arises from cultural expectations about post-secondary education, where the outdated myth that success in life is only life comes only from earning four top class. As a result, too much focus on academic excellence while earning a high school diploma.

Unfortunately, this belief, what is the value of vocational or technical education, has led to a decrease in emphasis in secondary schools to prepare students to enter a two-year, or vocational schools. This lack of importance and academic trend has created a shortage of qualified workers, who have adopted a two-year degree or technical certificate, more than 80 percent of companies today (prior to the call Association for Career and Technical Education, 2010).

As a rule, vocational and technical education is intended for those who need or like to work with their hands or prefer to work skills, which require active cooperation. These same people do not like to sit at a table and enjoy the work that change the experience. Some of the highest paid people today are in skilled trades, health care, and the computer industry, to point to a few examples that require a four-year upper class.

Career skills of the 21st century: experience of employment and knowledge

The shortage of skilled workers is a growing problem for employers, and for malevolent adult job seekers. This is especially true in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The value of vocational or technical education is at the forefront as part of this career, in particular those who are in critical technical areas.

The following examples are isolated by exposure to undervalued and unskilled workers. There are fewer workers to:

  • Use critical thinking, innovation and problem solving.
  • use effective communication skills and teamwork.
  • demonstrate a minimum level of sectoral technical skills.

As a result, about one-third of potential employees have the right skills, establishing employers in their labor to help them remain competitive in today's global economy. These workers need to continue their education beyond high school to improve employment skills.

A high school diploma or GED: only the beginning

Vocational or technical education is usually the minimum qualifications required for entry into the workforce or change careers today. Many employers believe that workers who do not continue their education without earning in high school (HS) or general education diploma (GED), the degree of deficiency of knowledge and technical skills.

The following reports are supported by the attitude of employers who are considering HS diploma or GED as soon as at the beginning.

According to the partnership on the skills of the 21st century (they are really ready to go? Employer Perspectives on the basic knowledge and applied skills of new entrants into the labor force of the 21st century, 2006), diplomas or GDES HS no longer accepted 42 per cent of employers as a minimum level education required for the positions at the entry level.

According to the round table (moving forward and staying ahead: helping labor America to succeed in the 21st century, 2009), the United States - the only country belonging to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, where young workers have lower levels of education, than its older workers.

According to Edward E. Gordon, winning the global allocation of talents (2009), today's younger adults - technology addicts. However, they lack the qualifications required for entry into a career focused on the design, creation, maintenance or use of technologies of the 21st century. The minimum qualification for these mining fields obtained by earning professional or technical grade.

According to the competitive workforce Institute (American Chamber of Commerce, the imperative skills: as a career and technical education can solve the shortage of US talent in 2008), today's workforce requires further education leading to a minimum two-year degree or technical certification.
What is the value of vocational or technical education? Along with the recession career test, the value of continuing education beyond high school can not be understated. Almost half of all employers are no longer looking at high school or GED as they meet the minimum requirements for the entry-level, two-year degree or certification is required. Entering the professional or technological workforce begins with education beyond high school.

Evolutionary Ideas Pervade Astronomy & Geology not Just Biology

The theory of biological evolution is the most famous evolutionary idea in modern science, but evolutionary concepts are common in all sciences, and not just biology.
Perhaps, because the classical origin of the types of Charles Darwin introduced the theory of the biological evolution of people, as a rule, think that biology is the only modern science, in which the ideas of evolution play an important role. There is nothing more distant from the truth. Evolutionary concepts integrate many aspects of modern science.

Biological evolution

The biological theory of evolution is the main paradigm, which provides the basis for explaining almost all modern biological knowledge.

Through the mechanism of the natural selection of organisms that have features that increase survival, will be more likely to play. On many generations, a new type can develop with these features of survival. New kinds can either replace or supplement the original types. Starting from the first simple life forms, this biological evolutionary process caused a wide variety of life, now found on earth.

Evolution and Geology

Paleontology is a branch of geology that is closely interrelated with an evolutionary biology. Studying fossils and fossils, Paleontologists gave most of the experimental evidence that support the biological theory of evolution. When they dig deeper geological layers, paleontologists find fossils from older species. This fossil record allows them to bring both, as new types developed, and how older species have died.

Nevertheless, geologists are not limited to ensuring confirmation of evidence of biological evolution. Thanks to such processes, both the tectonics and erosion of the slab, the surface of the Earth has developed significantly in its almost 5 billion years of existence. This evolution continues. Geologists are studying various processes affecting the evolution of the Earth to try to understand the evolutionary history of the Earth.

Evolution and Astronomy

Evolutionary concepts are crucial for our modern understanding of the universe. Astronomers study Star Evolution, which is the life words of stars. Supernova explosions, which are death from the most massive stars, play a crucial role in cosmic evolution. Their fires are bungled and recycled the atoms of heavy elements, including those that are crucial for life.
Astrophysics also use evolutionary concepts to answer questions about our origin. What is the origin of the Earth, the solar system, our galaxy and the universe itself. The theory of a large explosion for the origin of the Universe covers evolutionary concepts to explain our highest origin.

Evolution and chemistry

Scientists do not understand the origin of life on Earth, but they think that somehow conditions on primitive land have been released a prebiological soup of organic molecules. With the help of the process of scientists, they still do not understand, the first simple life forms developed from this prebiological soup.

After the formation of genetics and biological evolution led to the fact that DNA and similar complex molecules. Consequently, organic chemicals and biochemistry are important areas of science to explain the origin of life and its subsequent evolution.

Evolution and physics

Physics is not directly related, associated with evolutionary concepts. However, as the most fundamental science, physics forms the basis for other industries of science.

Forces forming the surface of the Earth, chemical reactions forming molecules, and astrophysical processes are governed by fundamental laws of physics.

Evolution in sociology and anthropology

Anthropologists are studying human species, including human origin. Scientific evidence tells us that people evolved from the same general ancestors as other modern primates. Sociologists and anthropologists are also learning how human societies developed throughout the history of the human race.

Evolution not only about biology. Almost all modern sciences unite evolutionary concepts in some form.

Pursuing a career of marine biology: Other specialties consider

Although pursuing a bachelor's degree in marine biology is a great way to start a career in this area, it is not significantly significantly to announce the maritime specialization in the marine country. Serious marine biologists pursue a master's degree or even doctors. As undergraduate, the degree of biology or zoology will be enough to start a career of marine biology. Highschool students may want to consider the summertime camp of marine biology, which will look good on college applications and helps students get better understanding of the field.

Continuing Education Requires Learning How to Learn Effectively

Characteristics of adult learners which must be overcome as nontraditional students discover strategies and techniques for learning how to achieve academic success.
Nontraditional students are adults who return to school full- or part-time for continuing education opportunities to begin a new career or improve their career outlook. These students maintain full time responsibilities such as employment, family, and other responsibilities of an adult life. Their need differs from traditional students because of their developmental requirements, issues, and stressors. Traditional students enter college straight from high school. Often they need help with writing a term paper.

For these nontraditional students or adult learners, beginning or returning to the college environment is a challenging and sometimes daunting task. Their life’s responsibilities often carry a myriad of complications that make learning difficult at times. Financial and family concerns are two of the biggest considerations that impact their adult learning experience. However, these adults tend to be achievement oriented, highly motivated, and relatively independent.

Non-Traditional Students: Characteristics of Adult Students

A number of factors characteristically reflect the needs, learning, views, and beliefs of nontraditional students. Adult learners need flexible schedules, along with instruction that is appropriate for their developmental level. Adults generally prefer more active approaches to learning and value opportunities to integrate academic learning with their life and work experiences. Additional factors which distinguish their needs include:

  • a strong view and belief that education as an investment in their future
  • multiple non-school-related commitments and responsibilities
  • not having a cohesive age group with which to bond socially
  • having limited support and social acceptability for their student status in more traditional adult roles
  • having difficulties juggling their roles of student, worker, and family member
  • needing help in building self-confidence when acquiring or refreshing study skills
  • managing their time and other resources while in school

These factors impact the way adult students learn how to learn.

Learning to Learn: Adult Education Requirements

Non-traditional students express concern about their academic preparedness and ability to learn. This concern stems from issues such as being a first generation college student, little experience with the new technologies, and from having a General Education Development (GED) degree. This concern is typically is linked with the length of time since being in a classroom, which plays a major role in their anxiety about their ability to learn.

Often first generation college students come from lower socioeconomic status backgrounds. Poor communities, regardless of location, often do not provide foundational learning experiences adult students need to be successful.

Adult students, who obtained a GED, are often concerned with having the math and writing skills necessary to successfully complete courses. These students often turn to a cheap essay writer to complete remedial courses.

Many adult learners, especially those without prior college experience, are surprised by differences in the way college courses are taught compared to their prior high school experiences. Undergraduate courses a typically comprised of midterms and final exams, which require knowledge about concepts rather than simple memorization of facts. While graduate courses rely more on reading research, writing research papers, and making connections with real world experiences.

Learning to learn is connected to an adult learner’s personal life, alignment with work, and knowledge of social responsibility. These sorts of connections are not automatically developed when one becomes an adult. Learning takes deliberate effort and continual reflection. There is a lot more to learning than memorizing, recalling, or even understanding facts. Tips for nontraditional students include developing an education plan, along with knowing how to:

  • apply knowledge to new areas
  • integrate knowledge with other aspects of life
  • understand the implications of knowledge for self and others
  • care about learning

This is why spending just a few hours on homework or even one semester reading a textbook often fails to provide the level of understanding needed for long term success. Clearly, learning requires a major investment in time and development of successful habits. Unfortunately, time is a premium for nontraditional students and they must use their time wisely for effective learning.

Making Connections: Comparing Nontraditional Student Needs and Learning to Learn

Adult learners must take the proactive values of learning and apply these values with their beliefs that education is a long term investment in their career success. Nontraditional students must learn to take advantage of all resources available to them as they learn. These resources include technology, seeking extra help from instructors, visiting the library, forming study groups, and taking advantage of free paper writing services provided by most colleges.

For nontraditional students to improve their learning effectiveness and efficiency when completing continuing education courses, they must learn how they learn. Experimenting with what works best when going back to school and sticking with this builds self-confidence, which leads to success in their adult education endeavors.
