Hola Cadetes,

The geography and cultural section " Puerto Rico" traditional dishes, historic landmarks and grocery shopping was completed last Friday along with the first grammar lesson we did -verb "tener" conjugations and expressions. You should review the notes and come prepare to participate in class. There are two online activities ;Kahoot and Socrative quizzes coming this week to check for understanding (formative assessments)

This week we will discuss about foods we like and dislike, use interrogatives to formulate questions,  and to use verbs tener, tener expressions, hacer, ir and verb gustar conjugations with indirect object pronouns (me, te, le, nos, les)

Reminder! Quiz on Friday:

Study: tener verb and expressions, food vocabulary, Puerto Rico geo and culture notes, interrogatives, verbs: ir,gustar and hacer conjugations.

Recommendations:

1. Take notes in class and ask questions!

2. Review vocab. notes every day for 15-25 minutes

3. Use the useful phrases to communicate with me and your classmates ( participation points apply!)

4. Schedule with me in advance if you need support/tutorials after school/missing assignments/absent/driving class...etc.

After school hours:

Dear families and cadets,

It has been a pleasure to have you in my classroom this year. I have seen students making progress in all aspects; writing, reading, listening and most important speaking. Level two lessons were challenging from unit 4 to unit 6, we learned new grammar tenses aligned with high frequency words. Cadets are able to provide and ask for information about food, clothing, location words, informal commands, differentiate verbs saber vs. conocer and to learn about sports, equipment and places. They studied four countries for cultural and traveling interest. Cadets have the skills to understand and communicate in present tense. I will suggest to keep the vocabulary notes taken to transition to Spanish three next year.

Please review the outline for your final exam posted, we did review in class but you should review and study for you final exam due on Thursday. If you are exempted, you do not need to come but please notify the attendance office.

Buena suerte! Good luck!

Sra. Diaz
