Interim reports go out on Monday, April 30th.

All grades up to this point will be entered into HAC.

Week of April 9-13

Welcome Back from Spring Break

Continue to Identify and Label all of the white keys on the piano A - G with anchor keys of C & F

Start identifying the Black keys with 2 names each (A#/Bb, C#/Db, etc)

Write the finger numbers of Right & L hands (R - 1,2,3,4,5 L - 5,4,3,2,1) and what keys they play in C hand position

Know all the notes on the Treble Clef Lines: E G B D F "Every Good Boy Does Fine on the line"

Know the notes on the Treble Clef Spaces: F A C E "It spells FACE in the space."

Know the notes on the Bass Clef Lines: G B D F A "Good Boys Do Fine Always"

Know the notes on the Bass Clef Spaces: A C E G "All Cows Eat Grass"

Identify and label the terms and symbols: Staff (5 lines, 4 spaces), Clef, bar line, double bar line, measure, time signature, ledger line

Identify the following rests: whole, half, quarter, eighth, & sixteenth.

Know all values and how the coordinate with the note values.

Know symbols and Italian terms: piano, forte, mezzo piano, mezzo forte, pianissimo, fortissimo, fermata, time signature, legato, staccato, flat, sharp, natural, common time, cut time, crescendo, decrescendo, diminuendo, ritardando, staff, measure, bar line, double bar line, repeat sign, treble & Bass clef

Write a Major scale on the staff. Label the pattern of steps W, W, H, W, W, W, H

Continue playing and passing off songs in the piano book. Try to get to pg 30/32 by the end of the week.

Friday is Recital Day - be prepared with a song to play.

Week of April 9-13

Welcome back from Spring Break!

Continue learning counts, names and solfege through repertoire and vocal warm-ups.

Continue learning repertoire with correct posture, breathing, vocal technique, diction, phrasing, dynamics, etc.

Memorize vocal part and lyrics to: "Hallelujah", "Amazing Grace", "Over the Rainbow", "Pitch Perfect", "Alleluia Canon", "People Got To Be Free" & "Oh, Won't You Sit Down"

Continue to practice: "Try Everything", "Bonse Aba", "Amani Utupe", "Let There Be Peace", "Thank You, Soldiers", "National Anthem", and "Alma Mater"

Continue Learning new song, Oh, Won't You Sit Down 

IMPORTANT DATES:

ANNUAL INSPECTION March 15 & 16

Choir will sing The National Anthem on Friday, March 16th during Annual Inspection

May 2 - NYC Trip to see Aladdin - All Day $175 

May 7 - Choir Banquet @ 6:30- 8:30pm Forms w/$ Due by May 1st! (NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS)

May 9 - Spring Choir Concert @ 6:30pm Cooke Elem (mandatory)

Week of April 9-13

Welcome back from Spring Break!

Story Telling - Favorite part of Spring Break

Group Improv Story told in a circle 1 word at a time (Beginning, Middle, End)

Know all theater title vocabulary words and the written definitions. (Fill in the blank, Crossword , Word Scramble and search

Live Music Video - Imitosis - work in groups of 3-4 people to create a plot. must follow ALL parameters

Bring in props for Live Music Video

Decide on costumes

 

 

Continue to work on vocal projection, diction, and tone with vocal exercises "WHAT A TA-DO", toy boat, red leather yellow leather, unique new York, etc.

Continue to reinforce good acting skills and techniques. (Schwoof, Red Ball, May I?, The Big Wind Blows, Director Says)

projection, diction, enunciation, pronunciation, posture, breathing, eye contact, facial expressions, focus, concentration, energy, enthusiasm, positive attitude, improvisation, memorization, sequence, order, etc.

Continue working on Pantomime through activities. (mirror game, who started the motion, who? where?, ordinary task)
