Week of March 5 - 9

Continue learning counts, names and solfege through written warm-ups.

Written Warm-up #22-28 grades will be posted this weekend

Continue learning repertoire with correct posture, breathing, vocal technique, diction, phrasing, dynamics, etc.

Memorize vocal part and lyrics to: "Hallelujah", "Amazing Grace", "Over the Rainbow", "Pitch Perfect"

Continue to practice: "Try Everything", "Bonse Aba", "Amani Utupe", "Let There Be Peace", "Thank You, Soldiers", "National Anthem", and "Alma Mater"

IMPORTANT DATES:

ANNUAL INSPECTION March 15 & 16

Choir will sing The National Anthem on Friday, March 16th during Annual Inspection

May 2 - NYC Trip to see Aladdin - All Day $175 

5 cadet & 4 Adult spots left.

May 7 - Choir Banquet @ 6:30- 8:30pm

May 9 - Spring Choir Concert @ 6:30pm Cooke Elem (mandatory)

Week of March 12 - 16

Vocabulary Test on Monday, 3/12

Know all 26 words and the written definitions.

Bring in props for Rotten Day and Horoscope Scenes

Write your set design, furniture key, supra-intention, prop list, and costume list

Write down every action you do in the scene.

Be creative, add interrupted actions, overlapping actions, props, set pieces, etc to make the scene your own.

Practice and memorize the scene order at home to be ready for your performance.

Continue to work on vocal projection, diction, and tone with vocal exercises "WHAT A TA-DO", toy boat, red leather yellow leather, unique new York, etc.

Continue to reinforce good acting skills and techniques. (Schwoof, Red Ball, May I?, The Big Wind Blows, Director Says)

Bring in your small unusual object for another activity

Work on vocal projection, diction, and tone with vocal exercises "WHAT A TA-DO"

Perform "WHAT A TA-DO" with an emotion.

Continue to reinforce good acting skills and techniques. (Schwoof, Red Ball, May I?, The Big Wind Blows, Director Says)

Know the 9 stage areas plus the Right and Left wings backstage. Continue working on upstage & downstage.

Begin improvisation scenes and activities. (1234, 5678, Egg skit, park bench)

Discuss what makes good acting - believability, honesty, genuineness, realism.

Week of March 12 - 16

Unit Test on Monday - 3/12

Be able to:

Identify and Label all of the white keys on the piano A - G with anchor keys of C & F

Write the finger numbers of Right hand (R - 1,2,3,4,5 ) and what keys they play in C hand position

Know all the notes on the Treble Clef Lines: E G B D F "Every Good Boy Does Fine on the line"

Know the notes on the Treble Clef Spaces: F A C E "It spells FACE in the space."

Know the notes on the Bass Clef Lines: G B D F A "Good Boys Do Fine Always"

Know the notes on the Bass Clef Spaces: A C E G "All Cows Eat Grass"

Identify and label the terms and symbols: Staff (5 lines, 4 spaces), Clef, bar line, double bar line, measure, time signature, ledger line

Identify the following rests: whole, half, quarter, eighth, & sixteenth.

Know all values and how the coordinate with the note values.

Know symbols and Italian terms: piano, forte, mezzo piano, mezzo forte, pianissimo, fortissimo, fermata, time signature, legato, staccato, flat, sharp, natural, common time, cut time, crescendo, decrescendo, diminuendo, ritardando, staff, measure, bar line, double bar line, repeat sign, treble & Bass clef, 

Continue playing and passing off songs in the piano book. Try to get to pg 28/29 by the end of the week.
