This week, students will be enrolled in Edgenuity, an online math skills program, and will take a placement test to find their level of competence. A signed syllabus review sheet is due back to me on Friday, 9/6. This will be the first grade of the marking period.
Our final class will include review and discussion of volcano formation and how it relates to the rock cycle. The principles of radioactive decay will be introduced, and how it can be used to date rock samples. The concept will be reinforced with a lab activity and graphing to compare data. Rock cycle webquest and take home volcano quiz due Tuesday, 6/4. Our course final will be on Thursday.
Our final class will include time for the cadets to write and submit a course review and summary. We will complete our write ups of our crime scene set ups and investigations from last week.
This week we will study plate tectonics, the rock cycle and the formation and characteristics of volcanoes.
Our classroom CSI will take place this week, Tuesday and Wednesday. The lab report and crime scenario write up will be due on Tuesday, our last day of class next week. The course summary will also be due on the last day of class.
