We will study the micro ecosystem of a leafcutter ant colony, in preparation for making DIY ant farms for the classroom. Wednesday is our field trip to Rodney Square in celebration of Earth Day. Four cadets in our classroom will be honored for their outstanding safe waterways posters. Reid Brakely, Keiry Ladrillero, Hannah Poteat and Ashley Jones. We will be leaving DMA at 10:45 and returning at 1:15. Cadets will be in uniform and will need to bring a lunch or $$ for the food trucks.
We will start our Banning Park Field Guide project with a trip, or two to the park. The field guides are a summative project and are due on Friday. We will have to restart our aquaponics classroom project because all of the fish died. Our Rodney Square Earth Day field trip will be on Wednesday, April 17. There is no cost for the event and transportation will be provided. There will be food trucks on site to purchase lunch or the cadets may bring a bag lunch.
We will finish our study of the use of blood spatter as forensic evidence. The blood spatter quiz will be Tuesday.Blood spatter case presentations will start on Wednesday.
This week we will finish our pre-chemistry unit with a test on Friday. The test will include labs, notes and classwork from Properties and Phases of Matter, Chemical Reactions and Energy, Law of Conservation of Matter, and Mixtures.
We will continue our study of blood and blood spatter, and its use in determining the series of events associated with the commission of a crime. Blood quiz will be Monday 4/8. Blood Spatter (famous case) slide show/poster is due on Tuesday, April 9th by midnight.
