This week we will begin our study of ecosystems and how the inhabitants are effected by the climate where they live. We will determine the major life zones (biomes) and discover how they effect the type of populations that live there.
This week we will finish our CSI unit. Mstr/Sgt Adam Ringle, head of the forensics unit for the Wilmington Police will be our guest speaker Tuesday. We will continue to watch Poisoner's Handbook and prepare for the chapter 2 (CSI) test on Thursday. Cadets are encouraged to visit the cengage website for flashcard vocabulary and interactive concept review.
This week we will finish our unit on speed, velocity and acceleration. A quiz on these concepts will be on Wednesday, February 12, followed by a test on Thursday. Students will be given study guidelines and and additional practice problems to prepare.
We will set up and conduct crime scene investigations this week, experiencing the roles of investigators on a crime scene. We will continue our analysis of "A Poisoner's Handbook and the history of the use of forensic science to investigate and solve crimes, with admissible evidence.
We will have a speed quiz on Tuesday, and continue graphing data using strobe pictures that illustrate speed and acceleration. We will practice problems learning to use the terms speed and velocity, interchangeably. Acceleration calculations will be introduced, with an acceleration lab to follow next week. Cadets should expect a speed velocity and acceleration quiz on Tuesday, with a test to follow on Thursday.
