We will finish the write uo of our egg drop experiment, and prepare for the final quiz of the physics unit on work, power, KE and PE. on Tuesday.  The Physics Unit final will be on Thursday.  Students will be given a study guide to prepare for the unit final and the midterm (November 1 or 2).  Then we will begin our study of electromagnetic waves.

We will continue our study of fibers and textiles and their importance as "class evidence" to a crime scene.  We will conduct microscopic examination of weave patterns, and burn tests to determine the composition of different fabric samples.  Our chapter 4 quiz (textiles and fibers)will be on Wednesday, October 17. Sergeant Adam Ringle, head of the  Wilmington Police CSI  unit, will visit the class on Thursday to share firsthand accounts of crime scene investigations.

We will add formulas for work and power, and kinetic and potential energies to our toolbox in preparation for our "egg drop" experiment, which will wrap up our physics unit.  We will determine the energy of a rolling ball, and attempt tp demonstrate the law of conservation of energy, comparing potential and kinetic energy.  The cadets will need goggles for the egg drop lab on Friday.
