GRADE 7 RC ELA
Students will write an aprox. 2 page story of how their school/learning experience has been for the last 2 months since regular classes ended. Make sure you proofread it before handing it in. Pay attention to spelling, punctuation, and unnecessary repetition. Due Monday, June 1.
GRADE 7 MATHEMATICS
This week will be spent on Section 10.3 Evaluating Expressions - page 365.
Students will read carefully Example 1 and 2 on p. 366-367 and work on page 369-371 # 7-15, 17,19 as well as p. 383 # 13,14.

GRADE 8 MATHEMATICS
This week students will finish section 5.4 and this ends chapter 5.
Section 5.4 Surface Area of Cylinders - page 182
Students will copy and learn the definition of 'cylinder' on page 182 and read carefully Example 1 (Method 2 only !!! - using a formula) and Example 2 on p.183-185.
For practice, students will work on page 186-187 # 4,5,6,8,9,12. You need to show your work !
Hand in assignment for the whole chapter will be page 190-191 # 1-5, 8,9,11. Show your work please, don't just write the answer ! - Due Monday, June 1.
GRADE 7 RC ELA
This week will be for the last Chapter, ch. 30 of our Spelling Book. Next week we will look at different kinds of work.
Chapter 30 is a review chapter so there is no new list of Spelling words.
Students should work, complete and hand in by next Monday :
page 125 all, page 126 all, page 127 all, page 128 #2, 3, 4, page 129 #1,3,4, page 130 all.
GRADE 7 MATHEMATICS
We are starting Chapter 10 Patterns and Expressions and will need 3 weeks for it.
This week will be spent on Sections 10.1 and 10.2
Section 10.1 Describe Patterns - page 350
Students should know the definition of patterns on page 350 and read carefully Example 1 and 2 on pages 352-353 as well as Key Ideas on page 354. These kind of questions involve using a lot of words to explain and describe !!!
For practice students should work on page 354-356 # 5-7 and 9-12 as well as page 382 # 6-9.
Section 10.2 Variables and Expressions - page 358
Students should copy, understand and learn the definitions of 'variable', 'expression', 'value',
'constant' and 'coefficient' on pages 358 and 360, read carefully Examples 1 and 2 on pages 359-360.
For practice students should work on page 360-363 # 4,6,7,9, 10, 13, 14 and page 382-383 #10 and 11.
